A visit to Tilden Park
A good friend of ours was married today up in the East Bay. After the wedding, we went off to see one of our favorite historic carousels, the Tilden Park Herschell-Spillman menagerie carousel. Mike and I did some early courting on the dramatic 1911 Looff Carousel at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, where he impressed me greatly on our first date by grabbing the brass ring AND throwing it into the clown's nose to make everything light up! There's nothing like an old-fashioned guy! Carousels are one of our favorite places.
