Some Backcountry Riding

So we decided to build a couple of kickers behind our house up on the hill and do some backcountry riding. The first kicker was such a good success that we proceeded to build a second one. When a few friends from back east came to visit they had the idea to build the first one. After I returned from Utah we went out back and sessioned the kicker for a day. It was about 50 degrees and the sun was out, perfect bluebird day. The landing was soft enough that TJ and I got to thinking we should step it up and throw our first backflips. Definitely a success and well worth it too. Were still working out the kinks on our style factor but I would say we have them down.

The landing on the first one got to the point where it was not soft anymore so that's when we built the second one. We didn't have quite the same weather as we did for the first kicker but still had a great time and I think it was bigger too.

Check out the photos from both days.

Launching A New Blog

Decided to change my blog around because I did not like the other one. Recently I have been shooting winter action sports. I have been able to make it to the Xgames and the Winter Dew Tour. The Xgames was a good first experience in Aspen, CO. I was there for Men's Snowboard Superpipe and Men's Skiing Big Air.
The Winter Dew Tour was held on the east coast and the west coast. I went to the tour when it was at Breckenridge right near Vail, where I live. I then met with one of the athletes Evan Walls who invited me to be his photographer at the tour in Utah at Snowbasin. I jumped on the opportunity to shoot more Men's Skiing Superpipe. He and I drove 8.5 hours to get to the event and we stayed with his friend who was also competing. Both athletes are from Carrabassett Valley Academy, located in Maine. The competition went well and Evan made it to semi-finals of the event.

The images below are from the Dew Tour Toyota Championships in Utah.
